Richard Ortegon, M.D. is a board-certified adult psychiatrist specializing in treatment of adolescent and adult anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, attention-deficit / hyperactivity disorder, and trauma-based disorders

Dr. Ortegon completed his medical training at Boston University Medical Campus (BUMC) prior to completing his psychiatry residency at the University of Connecticut (UConn Health) where he worked in both adolescent and adult mental health clinics. Dr. Ortegon provides the most up-to-date evidence-based treatment for diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders. He excels in providing both psychotherapy, medication management, and second opinion / consultative evaluations. He is happy to work collaboratively with other medical professionals and therapists for optimal treatment outcomes. During his psychiatry residency he worked with military veterans, young-adults, and Spanish-speaking individuals. Dr. Ortegon has a passion for treating depression and anxiety disorders because of the significant improvement this can have on an individual’s quality of life. He is experienced in helping young adults struggling with transitional difficulties move to the next stage in their social and academic careers.
